To add the new Wellpoint (Individual ACA) subagent relationships for FL, MD, or TX (depending on the agency’s appointment status):

Wellpoint & Anthem Instructions

Log in to the portal with User ID and Password

https://brokerportal.anthem.com/apps/ptb/login

If not registered, click on “Register Now” and register:

• Click on “Account Details” in upper right corner
• Click on “Appointments”•“Self-Initiated”, scroll to bottom of screen. Click on “Start a New Direct Appointment”
• Go to “Basic Info”
• ANSWER NO to the question “Are you the Principal of an Agency or General Agency”
• Review all information. Continue to Appointments
• In the Appointments tab
• Select the state(s), FL, MD, or TX
• Brand: Wellpoint (Individual ACA)
• Line of Business: Individual
• Agent Type: Sub Agent under An Agency
• Check the Exchange Indicator box – This is what makes sure commissions are paid.
• Enter in the agency’s FEIN (the agency’s name will auto populate)
• Continue to Business Survey tab, submit
• Continue to Forms (sign documents), submit
• Continue to Payments, pay fees, submit
• Dashboard will provide a summary of the subagent application submitted.
• Status will update once appointment is processed
• Appointment(s) completed!

How do I get contracted and appointed with Anthem?

Do I need to be certified to sell Anthem ACA On-Exchange plans?

Yes, to sell health and/or dental insurance coverage in states operated by the Federal government through healthcare.gov, you must complete annual Federally-Facilitated Marketplace Training (FFM Training) to sell On-Exchange Health Plans. Training can be completed through the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) Enterprise Portal.
